Lean manufacturing training improves quality, reduces customer complaints

Organization: 

Bay Tek Games, Inc. develops and manufactures coin-operated games. In the past 10 years, the number of employees has grown by 60 percent and revenue increased by 146 percent. The American Amusement Machine Association honored Bay Tek Games with the 2010 Manufacturer of the Year Award.

Need: 

Bay Tek Games management wanted to reduce waste and build long-term relationships with employees.

Solution: 

Northeast Wisconsin Technical College Business and Industry Services provided training in Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, leadership and job-specific training. The company used Workforce Advancement Training grants to fund the training.

Results: 

Bay Tek Games realized cost savings through reduced quality defects, customer complaints, employee turnover, and increased revenue through improved quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Employees gained safer work environments and opportunities for career and financial advancement.
