Drywall Finisher Apprentice

A drywall finisher performs pre-inspections and pre-fillings of wallboards, applications and embedments of tapes on joints, both by machine and hand, and applications of first and second skim coat over tape, both by machine and hand. They are also responsible for detail work on touchups, arches, round curvatures, vaulted ceilings, taping and finishing around pipes, tubs-nail spotting, filling of metal corner guard and metal edge trim, and application of tape type metal corners and trim. A drywall finisher patches large holes, cracks, repairs loose tape and pop fasteners, finishes angles, applies texture, and finishes, sands, and performs final checkout and cleaning procedures.
