Agronomy (Crop Science)

Production agronomists are critical in the implementation of a farm’s cropping program. With emphasis on dairy cropping systems, the Agronomy technical diploma will provide you with knowledge and hands-on experience to become a skilled production agronomist. You’ll be prepared to oversee the implementation of manure management practices, weed control, pest management, forage harvest, tillage, grain harvesting and feed storage. As a program student, you’ll learn the following critical skills and concepts for ensuring optimum utilization of farm resources under variable cropping and weather conditions: Optimization of yield and quality for feed production, sustainable balance of nutrient management and environmental compliance, operation and maintenance of various implements of husbandry utilized on the farm, and integration of precision agriculture technology aspects.
