Cardiovascular Technology

In this program, students will be educated in the theoretical concepts and clinical applications of cardiovascular procedures used to diagnose and relieve the symptoms of coronary artery disease, electrophysiology disorders, and other congenital and acquired pathologies. Following one year of general CVT (Cardiac Cath Lab) coursework, students select a subspecialty in either invasive CVT or non-invasive (Echocardiography). Laboratory instruction occurs in an on-campus Cardiographics-Echocardiography laboratory as well as in laboratories of an area hospital. Clinical externship will include assignments in various local hospitals under the direction of an experienced CVT.
