Diagnostic Medical Sonography
The Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is someone who is interested in working with sick, disabled, and dependent persons and with high technology. The Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) program prepares individuals for entry-level employment in abdominal, obstetrical, gynecologic and limited vascular ultrasound, with an introduction to echocardiography. This program is accredited through the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation. Graduates complete the national registry examination in ultrasound physics, obstetrics, gynecology, and abdominal ultrasound.
Shared programs give students access to career majors that might not otherwise be available at their local college. Where these career fields are in high demand, two or more colleges may agree to share program components at the individual colleges. Because the colleges are collaborating, students may need to attend certain classes at another college to fulfill the program requirements. For more information please contact one of the colleges listed.
