Kevin Raisbeck grew up on a small dairy farm and wanted a career in agriculture. Eager to get out into the workforce quickly, Kevin chose Southwest Wisconsin Technical College (SWTC) for the two-year occupational degree and the hands-on learning it offered.
During an internship with Asgro Seed Company, Kevin discovered an interest in agronomy and pursued more classes in that subject when he returned to campus.
Kevin accepted a job with Agritech F.S. in Darlington a few weeks before graduating. As a crop specialist he consulted with farmers and sold products to improve yields.
Eventually, Kevin earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Upper Iowa University. He returned to SWTC as an instructor in agronomy and farm business management.
In 2007 Kevin joined the Ag Lending Team at First National Bank. The bank merged in 2012 to become Wisconsin Bank and Trust and one year later Kevin was promoted to senior vice president – agriculture and commercial lending officer. His current title is market president.
“I am forever grateful to SWTC and the instructors I had,” he said. “They encouraged me to get involved in campus organizations like the Postsecondary Agriculture Student organization where I learned communication skills and how to deal with challenges.”
Kevin gives back to SWTC by serving on the Foundation Board. “I always tell graduates to remember where they came from and the great education they received,” he concluded.
