Kristin Curry

Kristin Curry, MATC-Milwaukee grad

Milwaukee Area Technical College

Graphic Design, 2011

Brand manager, Fashion Angels

Kristin Curry earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from Arizona State University, but was not satisfied with the work she found. She discovered her passion for graphic design, moved back to Milwaukee and enrolled at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC).

"MATC teaches you what you need to know to get employed," Kristin said.

She had two interviews for full-time design positions before graduating and accepted an offer from Fashion Angels, a designer and manufacturer of high quality "tween" products.

Within three years, Kristin was promoted to brand manager, supervising a team of designers and ensuring that the messages and images on the packaging and the promotion of all products are representative and appealing. To accomplish this, Kristin relies on her MATC education.

"I use technical skills I learned at MATC every day," she says.
