MSTC receives grant to boost machine tool technician program

The Haas Factory Outlet presented Mid-State Technical College with a $15,000 grant, directed to post-secondary programs that teach computer numerical controlled machine technology. The money will be used to fund special student activities designed to enhance the hands-on training in the college’s machine tool technician program.

BTC hopes to offer three new associate degrees and a technical diploma in 2017

In fall 2017, BTC hopes to offer three new associate degrees and a new technical diploma. The three applied science associates degrees under consideration are human services, supply-chain management and foundations of teacher education. The technical diploma will be in commercial truck driving.

GTC approves funding for nursing school renovation

Gateway Technical College has approved a $1.4 million nursing school renovation that will create a unit with human patient simulators, debriefing rooms and a skills practice and training facility, and the project now awaits approval from the Wisconsin Technical College System board in January.

Nicolet, UW-Stout sign culinary transfer agreement

Culinary Arts graduates from Nicolet College can now complete a bachelor's degree without leaving the Northwoods thanks to a new credit transfer agreement between the college and UW-Stout.

MSTC, UW-Stout sign new transfer agreement

A new agreement between Mid-State Technical College and University of Wisconsin-Stout allows students completing the corrections and community advocacy associate degree at Mid-State to transfer directly to the bachelor of science in the criminal justice and rehabilitation program at UW-Stout.

MPTC looks to expand, start a gas utility technician program

Moraine Park Technical College in Beaver Dam is asking to purchase about two acres of land alongside Highway 151. The college is currently running a capital campaign to raise $800,000 for a gas utility technician program.

MSTC has two new transfer agreements in place with the UW-Stout

Mid-State Technical College has two new transfer agreements in place with the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The agreements allow for Mid-State students completing an associate degree in Gerontology or Health & Wellness programs to transfer directly to the bachelor of science in Development & Family Studies program at UW-Stout.

FVTC expands welding and metal fabrication facilities

Fox Valley Technical College is investing $1.7 million to expand its welding and metal fabrication labs at its Grand Chute campus. The college has added five robotic arc welding cells, a new arc welding system and a metallurgy lab.

NWTC breaks ground on new transportation center

Work has officially begun on the new transportation center at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. The 62,000-square foot building will house the college’s automotive, auto collision, diesel and heavy truck programs. The transportation center is expected to be completed by fall 2017.

Gateway Promise program receives $250,000 donation

Kenall Manufacturing in Kenosha has donated $250,000 to Gateway Technical College to support its Gateway Promise program. In recognition of the gift, GTC will name its new training center on its Kenosha campus the Kenall Protective Services Training Center.
