Automation - Control and Interfacing
Develop a solid understanding of electronics and explore basic concepts and theories of direct and alternating current circuits. Study power distribution circuits, including transmission substation, distribution substation and in-plant distribution. Gain familiarity with semiconductor materials and the operation of components; explore DC and AC drives, including operational controls, characteristics, drive functionality, and PC and field bus interfacing; practice hands-on skills in drive set-up and wiring; and develop an understanding of industrial sensors.
- Credits from this short-term certificate may be applied toward the General Manufacturing AAS degree and other degree and diploma programs within the manufacturing areas of the School of Applied Technologies.
