Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics

This job entails complete aircraft inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of airframe structures, systems and powerplants in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations. The major focus of the Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic program is to provide Aircraft and Airframe Powerplant instruction consistent with Federal Aviation Regulations, Part 147. FAR 147 is an industry standard developed by the FAA and administered throughout the United States which governs a majority of the content of such programs, regardless of specific geographic location. The program develops maintenance technicians with the skills and knowledge to make critical repairs and decisions. Program graduates should be able to successfully complete the FAA Airframe Mechanics examinations and the FAA Powerplant Mechanics examinations, and ultimately be issued a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings.
