Food Manufacturing and Processing
This program prepares you to work in the design, operation and support areas of food and beverage production facilities with a focus on food safety and quality assurance. Courses focus on the manufacturing process as it relates to the food and beverage manufacturing industry, while also developing your communication skills and other attributes necessary to succeed in a business environment.
Overall employment in food processing occupations is projected to increase 8 percent by 2016, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Unlike many other industries, food manufacturing is not as sensitive to economic conditions. Population growth, international trade, and consumer preference for convenience foods will maintain demand for employees in this field.
