Growing up in Freedom, Wisconsin, Lindsay Wiese was familiar with both Fox Valley Technical College (FVTC) and Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC). She knew she didn’t want to go to a four-year college and didn’t want a lot of student debt. After touring NWTC, Lindsay enrolled in the Marketing associate degree program.
Lindsay appreciated her instructors’ experience and expertise in the field.
“I knew the projects we worked on would apply to what I would be doing in the future,” she added. “One thing I liked about this degree was that it was also sales oriented. There are so many different opportunities with this degree. It made my decision easy.”
Like many students, Lindsay worked two part-time jobs while attending classes. She took accelerated courses. “You can work at a pace that works best for you,” she commented.
In 2010, Lindsay was hired as a marketing intern by Keller, Inc., a planning, architecture and building firm with offices in the Fox Cities, Madison, Milwaukee and Wausau. After graduation, Keller, Inc. hired her as full-time marketing coordinator. Two years ago, Lindsay was promoted to director of marketing.
“I am responsible for promoting the company throughout the state,” she explained. Her duties include participating in 31 trade shows, placing advertising in publications, billboards, radio and television and organizing customer events.
“There’s something different every day. That’s what I like about my job,” she concluded.
