Promise Programs
Many of Wisconsin's Technical Colleges are making college possible for qualified, low-income students in their respective technical college districts. Promise programs allow students -- who would not have otherwise been able to attend technical college because of low family income -- to earn a degree tuition-free.
The promise programs, which are subsidized by private college foundation fundraising, pay for tuition above and beyond what is provided through financial aid. The promise is for thousands of new high school graduates and requires a commitment by each student, including minimum grade point averages in high school and college and community service work.
